Visiting VUKOVAR, a city of HEROES in CROATIA!

One of our last stops on our Slavionian adventure was visting the beautiful and historic city of Vukovar. This city is truly a city of heroes - watch the video to learn more.

I visited Vukovar as a teen during the last year of elementary school. Vukovar hospital remains entrenched in my memory.

Vukovar is a matter of a great pride, pain and gratitude for Croatian people. The service that those brave men and women of Croatian Army did for our country can never be repaid. Taking your kids there is a beautiful thing, Sara. It is important to educate our younger generations about those terrible events so we can honor those people and their memory. We are a free nation because of them.

Glory to our fallen heroes and may the innocent victims rest in peace. No matter the side. ✝

Nažalost, ja ne mogu doći u Vukovar jer osim što imam problema sa srcem i tlakom ja sam previše emotivan, suze i emocije su me preplavile dok sam ovo gledao. Ponovo mi se vraćaju slike, mirisi, okusi, sve vrste osjećaja, koje sam doživio kao mladi golobradi Hrvatski branitelj. Moje srce ne bi izdržalo, a tako bih volio da mogu doći i vidjeti sada Vukovar. Went there 3 times on November 18th for the commemoration of the massacre of the patients and staff of the hospital.
made a big impression on me, as someone who never knew war.
The people in Vukovar really appreciated that I wanted to attend the commemoration as an outsider.
Vukovar will always have a place in my heart

When a man or a woman comes there and sees all that, realizes all the tragedy that happened, it's hard to hold back tears, yes.... 08:24 we know Sarah is emotional, and it's nice to show emotions, thank you for that, you are such a nice person, now I like you even more! 😪

Sarah and famiily, we thank you so much for this video❣ I know that it must have been difficult and physically and mentally demanding to make that video! But you can't just go through Vukovar and just close your eyes from the past, tragedies happening between 1991-95, can you? So we thank you for all that and will never forget! We celebrate Victory Day and Operation Storm on the 5th of August, because from that day horrors like Vukovar largely stopped. 🇭🇷
