I’m a Lakers fan, but I think it’s ridiculous the amount of people who want to keep this entire young core when none of those guys have shown any sign of turning out to be anything like AD. I agree they should try and keep 1 or 2, but you gotta snag a player like AD at all costs. Also, I don’t believe the young core is as focused on winning as they should be. There have been glimpses of these guys caring more about their brand and LA life than being champions. AD on the other hand is tired of losing and is hungry to win.

By “taking a player back, ” it is not reference to adding a pick to take an expiring contract in mirotic/ Ju but in reference to taking back a multi year/ bad contract. I’d think we’d find a 3rd party to trade with to eat that salary

Lakers will acquire AD by tuesday afternoon, definitely by thursday. We’re giving up a lot but we can get players during buyout part in march and build around AD and Bron in the summer.

Don't go overboard, for all this generational player talk, the fact remains that it hasn't translated to wins. Pelicans have only won more than 40 games twice since he's been there. As good as AD, LBJ, and even a 3rd star would be together, you're still going to need to surround them with a good supporting cast

If we have to take on one of those bad contracts then we gotta keep Kuzma or Ingram to be that third guy that can get 16-22 points a game. LBJ and AD going get us 25-30 a game. That third guy going be key.

The reality is that NONE of the players to be given up by the Lakers are anywhere as good as AD. Trade them all for AD, pick up Melo for the veteran minimum and snatch a couple other pieces and make it work. You still have a vet in Rondo, Chandler (who Melo has played with), McGee... I think they’ll be fine because if they’re also clearing their roster they’re making cap space for a potential 3rd player and I feel Kyrie might want to team up again which I’m sure at that point Rondo would get dealt elsewhere

One thing the Pels won't have to worry about if they trade with the Lakers is chemistry issues, all these guys including Randle have good chemistry already. Zo with Holiday would be a defensive nightmare in the backcourt and honestly the Pels have the shooters the Lakers are in need of.
