If I bought ryobi tools me and my daughter would get our drills mixed up

You used the homeowner grade Dewalt with a small battery. Use the XR with a 5ah powerstack.

I'm curious did you guys pick dewalt's weakest impact driver? If that's the case are you selecting the weakest Bower or the weakest Ryobi model as well? Yes I'm probably biased to a point because I do enjoy my black and yellow but every time I try a different drill other than Milwaukee I don't really care much for it. I will say the Hercules impact driver does feel good in hand but I've never actually used it

I've had all of them. The 1st bauer the lights fell off, they warrantied it and the replacement slung a rod or something putting in 3" deck screws 1 day into the job. Bought a dewalt and it finished the 200ft long set of steps down a cliff and lasted another 2 yrs before i replaced it. Still using the one i replaced it with. The Ryobi i had many years ago, so it was only used as diy homeowner stuff so can't really weigh in on it but never had any problems with any of them except the circular saw.

When i 1st moved to where i live now 5yrs ago, i was starting over 400 miles from where I'm from and the only "decent" cordless platform was DeWalt until last year so I'm too deep in to completely change but I've had nothing but good luck with dewalt so far.

Can’t beat the $40 price tag on that Bauer

I have milwaukee at work and ryobi at home and love them both. I could use a better ryobi Sawzall though. I was on the third 4ah battery in a row and let the smoke out of it. Let it cool down, and it still works. The tool only costs 60$ to replace it . That's the best part of ryobi.

I've used 18v Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ryobi, and Ridgid professionally. The Milwaukee was the best, then I was partial to Ridgid followed by DeWalt then ryobi. I didn't like the gearing in the Ryobi as much, but it holds it's own. I keep switching to reverse on the DeWalt drivers, my knuckle just sits right there on the switch sometimes. For personal use I have Ryobi because Bauer wasn't established yet. If i did it today i might pick Bauer over Ryobi for diy at home or as a disposable tool. I do have one of their corded 4-1/2" angle grinders and it's pretty solid for the mild cutting and grinding I've done.

I've been a Ryobi guy for a very long time. I started out with the NIMH batteries and now have several of the newer lithium batteries. I own several of their tools. I recently burned up the first of their hammer drills I've had for probably 20 years drilling holes in concrete for anchors to hold down a lean-to awning on my patio. I knew I was working it too hard, but I wanted to get the job done before a storm came through. That was some tough concrete. I don't know if I was hitting rebar or just some seriously hard rocks, but I didn't get most of them as deep as I needed them and had to shorten the anchors to make them work. That thing was getting so hot, I think I melted the guts of the motor. After the last hole, it seized up and never moved again.

I just bought a craftsman for 69 bucks and can’t believe how good it actually is

Isn't the Milwaukee M12 500 lb 1/2" the best?

I love my ryobi, i use my 1/4 impact to do a lot working as a technician. It will even take off lug nuts with a 1/2 adaptor. It will beat the Milwaukee in the shop. For half the price or less

Hercules is a really good budget option

Maybe if you didn't buy the cheapest oldest Dewalt from like 10 years ago and put it against the best from Bauer and ryobi the results might have been different

I use a variety of tool brands from festool down to ryobi but I still personally only say that the people who hate on ryobi's Oneplus tools are people who haven't used them. I am not going to pretend that they are the best tools available but when you can get some of them on sales it's ridiculous how cheap they are especially for certain tools or tools you don't use super often. I will also say that the only tool brand I have consistently ran into issues with cordless tools is DeWalt. Its not to say that everything is bad but I just have had more issues with batteries and tools not working well or breaking than any other manufacturer.

I have the dewalt, the ryobi, 2 different makitas, and a Milwaukee. The ryobi is powerfull as hell, but man I hate the trigger. It’s so delayed. I never see anyone talk about that. Besides the trigger it’s great.

I have a lot of ryobi stuff and I’m waiting for it to break before I replace it with a Milwaukee or something nicer.

I have a ryobi impact that I’ve had for 5 years and I have no idea how it isn’t dead yet, it’s been through so much, it’s no longer green, more like a greenish grey 😂😂
