A year ago they had a national rating assessment of the best and worst teams to play for. All the players and coaches agreed that Minnesota has the best team to play for. The difference between this Vikings team and the Vikings team who won all those games 2 seasons ago and then got bounced by the Giants in the first round, is the management of their roster. Obtaining guys like Sammy D and Andrew Van Ginkel has been huge for them. They continue to make sound, low--risk roster moves and signing Danny Jones is further evidence of that. I hope Jones has the opportunity to play under Kevin O'Connell because KOC has proven himself the Quarterback-whisperer. I bet he'd look much different in Purple.

He'll finally be around competent organization and coach. Good for him.

He does nothing, they lose $375, 000. He ends up playing with a Darnold injury, signs elsewhere in 2025 and the Vikings get a potential comp pick. Sam leaves and he is the primary backup or potential starter early jn 2025 as JJ recovers. Regardless, from Jones’ perspective this is his best shot to develop and elongate his career. It’s a no brainer for both parties.

The difference between Tom Pelissero and all other content creators who really miss the boat on many topics is that most of them talk as if they have anointed JJ as the starting QB next season despite not having played one meanings down in the NFL, and the success rate of a QB drafted in the first round is 30%-46% depending on the source and how success is defined! Pelissaro understands this and realistically knows that it is likely that a veteran will probably be starting week #1 next season!

Giants fane here. DJ is a great kid, and he was a stand-up guy on and off the field. But he just did not have the "it" factor.
I feel like he was over-drafted at #6, but his team failed him as well.

DJ can definitely be a Brock Purdy style QB under the right coaching, his passer rating on taking what the defence gives you is a lot higher than him trying to air it out, it's exactly what the vikings are doing with Darnold, coaching maturity and making good decisions, perfect for all involved
