The intro was the best sequel to the dark night I could have asked for 😘

I have the MK4 for over a year now. Use it several times a day, almost every day. It is my only grinder. Most of the time Espresso, rarely filter.

I love it.
The plastic cup still looks pristine, don‘t worry about it.
Retention inside the chamber is almost zero. All gets stuck on the outer side, which can be easily brushed. So a brush would indeed be a great add-on.

So I will focus on the negative aspects:
1. it is hard to get a grip if you have small hands.
2. If you brew Espresso, buying the optional „Red Clix“ is a must. I wonder why it is not standard
3. there is no numeric marker. So if you frequently shift from one coffee to another, you might get confused on the current settings. I almost never go all the way to zero, but simply try to remember „this one uses 3 clicks less / more than the other coffee.“ you must remember your last cup.

Last but not least, if you prepare Espresso for more than yourself, consider an electric grinder. My worst nightmare is when I have > 3 guests and they all wish a coffee. Now I am browsing for an electric one.

Note: it is tempting to attach an electric screwdriver to your Comandante. The high speed makes the beans pop (they don’t go properly through ) and you feel like your beloved grinder will go bust. This is not an option…

im excited, i just ordered my first comandante but i realized i may need the Red Clix to finalize my all-around off-grid coffee grinder once and for all. i plan on doing some turkish coffee and spro, so i will need accurate fine grinds for sure

Really fantastic algorithm! Happy with my Mk. 3 indeed, though that bracing geometry is indeed pretty cool :). I've found that using the jar to dump the beans into the top—then giving it a violent shake—is enough to to abolish the bean prison.

Excellent review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
I have Mach 3 but definitely, I will buy this one for one reason only - I love acid coffees like Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and good luck trying to put those small beans in Comandante (you will fill first the ax 🤫)

Grinding for espresso is a killer job... 😅
In rest, is an extraordinary grinder for 3 years 🙏🏻

Things We Missed:
1. The price of the MK4 is around £220 in the UK, $ 350 in the US and ₹22, 500 in India.
2. A few people have mentioned this is the comments already and we forgot add this to our 'Wishlist'. It would be great to have a better way to track clicks and avoid having to go back to zero so often.
3. The MK4 comes with a nice vegan felt pad to keep the grinder on and you also get a rubber grip band.

What the heck is it with everyone saying, "Hit the Like and Subscribe buttons"? I get so put off, and NEVER subscribe to such channels. Ever.
Excellent video, btw, and concisely informative

Lmao!! That hammer scene got me. Awesome video, and thanks so much for this review

I think the only thing you forgot to add to the wishlist is the traceable clicks. It is really hard going back to zero point to dial in for the new coffee.

Week 3 with the MK4.
First 2 weeks was ok but not mind blowing. Coffee was only somewhat better than what I was used to.
Then the bag of coffee, which was kind of mediocre, ran out and I opened a new bag of an old favourite.
That first taste stopped me in my morning shuffle across the kitchen. I said words that violate one of the commandments.
It was so much better than what I was used to from that particular coffee, that it was hard to believe it was the same one.
So, beside being damned to hell for eternity because of the commandment thing, I'm very happy with my purchase.

How would you compare this to the 1Zpresso J-Max for filter coffee brewing? Which one would you pick for everyday brewing? I realise that the J-Max leans more towards the espresso but I was hoping to get a comparison between this and the top of the line of the 1Zpresso J series.

Plastic catch cups have been available(3rd party) for years. It's not a proprietary size. I even have an airbrush with the same sized cup🙃 It is glass as well though

Good video, as always. Love my MKIII, I really do, but like Arian says above, traceable clicks would make it so much more friendly. I just don't want to have to go into zero to check if that cup I made yesterday was 16 clicks or was that the one from the day before? People with bad memories shouldn't be punished!

Hello. Backlash of the millstone on the axis of all Comandante coffee grinders?
