The dying repeating new villain feels like it could’ve worked for a dead by daylight game

This would work better as a Dead by Daylight adaptation. That game actually has a repeating system with new monsters and repeating survivors. Until Dawn has like two real threats so this doesn’t really make sense for an Until Dawn adaptation.

I get what they were going for with the mechanics of the game but the key mechanic was that the audience makes the decisions. So an Until Dawn adaptation makes no sense on paper when the video game is already an interactive movie.

This looks more like one of their follow-up games that didn’t have the same popularity as the first one.

This looks like one of those adaptations where it looks like the director wanted to make their own thing but figured it wouldn't get watched so he decided to attach a popular name to it, kinda like what they did with Borderlands
