Plot:
Thomas and his classmates arrive at the drop-off for a scenic view of the wilderness, but Gordoni, being the overprotective father he is from the start, embarrasses his son in front of his class.

Thomas: No, I wasn’t gonna go out! But Dad...
Gordon: It was a good thing I was here. If I hadn’t showed up, I don’t know...
Reggie Rocket: Sir, he wasn’t gonna go!
Patch Dog: Yeah, he was too afraid!
Thomas: No, I wasn’t!
Gordon: (To the kids) This does not concern you, kids. And you’re lucky I don’t tell your parents you were out there. (To Thomas) You know you can’t swim well!
Thomas: I can swim fine, Dad, OK?
Gordon: No, it’s not OK. You shouldn’t be anywhere near here! OK, I was right. You know what? You’ll start school in a year or two. (Starts to take Thomas away)
Thomas: (Jerks out of his grasp) No, Dad! Just because you’re scared of the ocean...
Gordon: Clearly, you’re not ready. And you’re not coming back until you are. You think you can do these things but you just can’t, Thomas!
Thomas: I hate you.
(Gordon is shocked and visibly hurt at what his son just said)
Bertie: (Sings to the kids) ♪ There’s. Nothing to see. ♪ (In normal voice) Gather, over there. To Gordon) Excuse me, is there anything I can do? I am a scientist, sir. Is there any problem?
Gordon: I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt things.
James: What's the matter, Gordon? Don't you know how to handle Thomas?
Gordon: (To James) As a matter of fact, I do, James. (To Bertie) He isn’t a good swimmer. I just think it’s a little too soon for him to be out here unsupervised.
Bertie: Well, I can assure you, he’s quite safe with me.
Gordon: Look, I’m sure he is. But you have a large class and he can get lost from sight if you’re not looking. I’m not saying you’re not looking...
