Does the phrase, "Take My Life Back" have a different meaning in the UK than in the US? For example is it the catch phrase of a UK TV personality or columnist, or perhaps part of a famous quote? The reason I ask is both former BP CEO during the Gulf Spill, Tony Hayward, and Nigel Farage of Brexit used versions of the phrase as if it had some kind of positive resonance instead of just sounding incredibly selfish? Perhaps it was a notable quote of Edward the VIII?
