Who would win in a fight between an African bush elephant and a woolly mammoth? Watch to the end to find out :)

Did you know that African elephants and Woolly mammoths existed during the same time at one point in Earth's history? They are actually not direct descendants. They branched off from their common ancestor around 6 million years ago, which is surprisingly around the same time humans split from chimpanzees.

The African bush elephant; It's the largest living land animal. A bull African elephant typically weighs in around 6.5 tons, and stands up to 11 feet tall. It inhabits the grasslands of Sub-Saharan. African elephants are powerful creatures, capable of knocking down acacia trees, destroying cars, and even dominating hippos and rhinos in fights. The only predator of African elephants are lions, but lions do not hunt adults. Lions will hunt young elephants when an opportunity arises. However, mother elephants are very protective, so it's very rare to see lions taking down young elephants. Since elephants are large, they eat a lot. They can eat up to 330-375 lbs of fruits and vegetation a day. Apart from their massive size, bull elephants can be pretty territorial and aggressive, especially when they go into musth. An elephant in musth makes it one of the most dangerous animals on the planet. Musth surges an elephant's testosterone, making it more aggressive than usual.

The woolly mammoth; It's one of the most iconic prehistoric animals. It lived during the Ice Age and roamed all across Europe, northern Asia, and some parts of North America. The Woolly mammoth supported thick fur, along with large, curved tusks. A bull Woolly mammoth is estimated to weigh between 4 to 6 tons, and stood about 10 feet tall. The woolly mammoth's posture is rather unique, supporting its slopped back and dome-shaped head. The woolly mammoth had many prehistoric predators such as saber-toothed cats (aka smilodons or saber-toothed tigers), wolves, cave hyenas, and human ancestors. Like the elephant, their predators likely went after young mammoths, with the exception of ancient humans, who could've likely taken down adults with various weapons. Woolly mammoths are undoubtedly very similar to elephants, with them also eating a lot of vegetation, even when it snowed out.

To me it's an obvious win of the african elephant. However let's see what people will say. People often overestimate ancient animals.... Now if it was a Steppe Mammoth, it would be a different story !

The mammoth's longer tusks can also be a detriment, as leverage would make it prone to breaking.

I'm saying that it could be a tie! Both Proboscideans are HUMONGOUS. How about Palaeoloxodon Namadicus VS Columbian Mammoth?

We actually have evidence woolly mammoths would’ve used their tusks like clubs. Damage on the shoulder bones indicate the mammoths would’ve swung their tusks into one another to dent one another in fights. Another thing to note is the Woolly Mammoth had a sloped posture mainly to support the hump on its back, which was used for energy storage like that of a camel’s, skeletal woolly mammoths are actually fairly similar to modern elephants. One last thing is there are actually different “morphs” of woolly mammoths, being Siberian and European. The Siberian is in that 4-6T range, while the European morph on average actually stacks up similarly to the African elephant. If you ask me who wins, I would give it to the elephant as well, though it may be even closer than a high diff.

Keep up the good work king 👑
Also got a question
If two Aquatic animals fought in the ocean, how would strength transfer into underwater and if it does, which type of strength would it matter the most?

The Woolly Mammoth has bigger tusks but they have a useless curve to them + they're a ton lighter. I don't think an African Elephant would have much trouble overpowering the Woolly Mammoth. In all fairness though nobody really knows how feisty Woolly Mammoths were because nobody actually seen one in action so it's only really speculation.

Can you please put Brown Bears in the Triassic, Jurassic, or Cretaceous period like Madly Mesozoic has done to see wether they survive or go extinct?

African Bush Elephant wins 55% high diff. It is slightly larger and heavier than the Woolly Mammoth. It also has straighter tusks therefore better at impaling while the Mammoth's tusks are curved and are less effective weapons.

I think they were both have a hard time, but maybe the elephant because it’s a little bit heavier, but not by much I also know that mammoths or more closely related to Asian elephants than African elephants

Ima keep it real here. I’d place my bet on the elephant purely because they have straight facing tusks that are far better at stabbing then the mammoth’s curled tusks
