Amazing! She doesn't just "play" the piece, she BECOMES it!

She readily performs such technical skill together with a lovely, soft touch. She is magnificent.

Yuja's glory is the wonderful variety of music she commands and her excellent technique which allows her to play almost anything.
She is also amazingly relaxed to be able to pull off her magic playing.
To play from Prokofieff to Ravel to Mendelssohn to Beethoven and to do it as well as she does is a tribute to her inherent talent.
I do not see this as evolution but of conquest. She is comfortable in exploring all the composers and to excel with both orchestra and solo playing.
This is a tribute to her quiet, but amazing talent.

I feel like the haters have an ulterior motive. We all have our preferences, and maybe her style doesn't suit you, but she is talented. She did go to Curtis, she did win a bunch of competitions and awards, and she played with a bunch of famous orchestras, like the Boston Phil and NY Phil, and one of her most watched videos is Flight of the Bumblebee, performed in 2008. She signed a recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon in 2009. All this happened *before* she started wearing short dresses. If your claim is that she is average and just seeking attention, then she would've been doing that before she hit it big. But the haters keep coming. Maybe you're are bothered by the way she dresses, and feel it devalues the playing. Maybe you're an elitist and only like obscure pianists or pianists from a hundred years ago. Maybe her style is not your cup of tea, but that's on you - she is bringing people to her performances, and she is an exciting and talented pianist.

Back in the late 1950's I got my first decent tape recorder. It was Mono but it had a db level meter and I was able to adjust my recording level. 60 years later, do you think You could do the same.

I could easily be her grandfather, and I am embarrassed to say that every time I watch her face while she is playing I fall in love with her again. I don't really see that she has evolved since 2006. She continues to stun with her incredible musical and artistic perfection.

Yuja, for just in case you get hit by a truck, would you record all Beethoven, Mozart, .. sonatas and concertos? Also, as much as Chopin's, Liszt's, ..., and Bach's. Shouting Bravo and clapping several minutes a day (in private) should be good to my heart, body and soul.
