This is also called a "Decoder", the reverse (16 to 4) is called an "Encoder"

I had already built a binary calulator with full adders so this video would make a good extention to the existing build!

Ah nice, needed soemthing like this for a random level selector, had 4 rng bits for 16 different levels it could choose from, needed this as I can then feed the 1 of the 16 inputs into a decoder to set the level

this is extremely inefficient, let's say you have an 8-bit input, it's 256 lines long now! and 10-bit input? it's now 1024 lines long now! only works with 4-5 bits or less depending on how far you're willing to go
