Make a Graduated Cutting Board with Contrasting Wood

Показать описание
Build this simple graduated cutting board using two contrasting hardwoods. This is a great scrap wood project to use up some scrap material that you have been saving. Simple cutting boards with contrasting woods are easy to make for beginning woodworkers, and you can accomplish a lot with a minimal set of inexpensive tools. People might wonder; can I make a wood strip cutting board if I don't have a jointer? Yes! There is no jointer required for this wood strip cutting board if you follow the steps that I cover here and use the blade that I use. Choosing the right blade for a cutting board project is an important step. The one that I have found to work the best is listed in the links below, as it gives a glue-line rip with no need for jointing, and it minimizes the waste due to its thin kerf.

Thanks for this video! I was just thinking this week that I wanted to learn how to make a board that looked like this. Perfect timing!

Thank you, Paul, for many great videos! What's the best way to remove glue residue from parallel clamps?

That board looks great! So in your opinion is an edge grain board better than an end grain board?

You don’t feel glue necessary on both sides of wood strips ? Good video

I want a cutting board that is 12 inches wide. What would be the proper width of the first board that I cut? Your cutting board looked wider than 12 inches. I have a Dewalt planer, so need to keep it about 12 inches wide.
