Marvel's Avengers vs Marvel's Spiderman PS4 | Is it Fair to Compare the 2?

Marvel's Avengers vs Marvel's Spiderman. But I wanted to do something a little different for today's video. It seems like whenever we talk about this game we can't go without mentioning another triple A title from the Marvel alumni. And that is Marvel's Spiderman. A game that's seen critical & commercial success for not only giving us awesome gameplay. But also granting us with that stellar single player story driven experience that Sony has been absolutely killing it with for all their exclusives. Insomniac Games did such an excellent job with it that many of the detractors of Marvel's Avengers have claimed that the studio should've worked on it instead of Crystal Dynamics. Understandably so some fans just couldn't get on board with Marvel's Avengers because of how unpolished it was. And there's the overall design choice that instantly made fans lash out in outrage because the Avengers didn't look like the actors from the MCU films. Although I didn't necessarily agree that the characters should look like their cinematic counterparts I couldn't deny that their designs left a lot to be desired. But the thing I was instantly sold on was how the game would be giving us multiple characters to play with as opposed to 1 hero. I've said this millions of times but tackling 6 heroes in 1 ambitious game is a huge goal to accomplish. And I know people are going to come with the argument that the Ultimate Alliance games managed to do this with double the amount of characters. But I just gotta briefly point out that although those games had an expansive roster the gameplay & movesets were so bare boned that it's not even comparable. Not to mention that they were games that were pushed out by Activision. And ironically enough the Spiderman franchise had also been suffering at the hands of that brand before their license with Marvel expired. Firstly we have to talk about what really makes Marvel's Spiderman stand out. And that's the gameplay. Anytime we think of what would make for the perfect Spiderman game we instantly think of things like the web swinging. Because you absolutely have to nail that traversal element. And there's a lot that goes into it. The developers have to make sure you're swinging at the right speed. They have to make him do all of the signature moves. And the webs must and I mean absolutely must attach to building surfaces.

I'll just say, playing Avengers has given me a new found appreciation for the work insomniac put into making you feel as spectacular as Spider-Man.

I loved Spider Man PS4 and was so hyped for Avengers that I pre ordered the $80 played it for 30 hours and im sick of it, repetitive after main campaign and mission chains but i have high hopes for the extension stories with new characters until then I won’t be playing often

They need to dust off the Hulk Ultimate destruction franchise and have a bunch of tank only Marvel characters like Colossus, Juggernaut, Gorgan etc, and have a rampage style game. That would be nuts on this generations consoles. That game was so much fun.

It’s rather unfair to compare a single player campaign experience like spider-man ps4 to the avengers. Having a game based around a single character is much easier to design rather than basing it off of 6 initial characters, especially knowing there will be more to come. The addition of multiplayer adds much more upkeep to the avengers game as a whole as well, as now they also to ensure their servers are on point, and ensure they make proper updates to matchmaking, for just a few examples. Already just with this comment I feel I made these games practically incomparable.

Before anyone replies, I understand the game isn’t perfect. I’ve had my fair share of frustration but, it is FUN. And even better than that, dumb fun.

I'm really not that in to looters so Spiderman takes it for me, however playing as the avengers was so cool and I love playing as Cap and Thor. I'm just not one to grind for hours and hours

I would love if in this game they added more modes that made the game play differently. For example what if there was a mission where enemies had more health, but every elimination completely refilled your intrinsic meter, or what if there was a weird mode where every character had like a super jump, or what if there was a mission where every enemy shot drain bullets but killing them would give you like 3 heroic orbs...??? Think they would make the game more fun and less repetitive.

Love Spiderman
Not buying Avengers until it's turned into a brilliant game bug free less repetition and holds up in MP

The problem here is that people want stories and that’s not the focus of the game. They want what a single player experience provide, but it’s just not this game. That’s why they feel it’s repetitive, because it’s the kind of a game that keeps making you grind. I like this type of gameplay loops, don’t like much story games. Not talking off course about the bugs and performance, it should be in a better state. People over hype single player games, the Jedi fallen order is a pretty good example of that and they act like this is the gold standard of the industry, when it’s not. It’s a genre a lot of people like, but we can’t even say it’s the marjority. Big multiplayer games have much a bigger audience, but I understand I can’t use this to say it’s better because well, it’s not. It’s subjective and that’s what people don’t understand. “If Marvel avengers was a single player experience, it would be much better”, according to who? You? That prefer single player experience games? Sound biased as fuck to me, so I don’t even think we should go there. I’m biased towards multiplayer games, I prefer to socialize and play with other people. So we end up on the same place, subjective experience. Like it? Buy it. Don’t like it? Don’t keep pretending this game would be better if it was singleplayer because I could do the same with Spider-Man. See the new Batman? I prefer that way, a lot of people do and a lot of people don’t. It’s not “better” because of it. Stop wasting too much mental energy on stuff that doesn’t matter, it’s going to make you feel much better. Let people that bough this mess of a game like me have their fun, go have you Spider-Man fun. I know I’m playing this game right now and will also have some good fun playing Miles Morales and eventually the Spider-Man 2.

I feel like this was a fair video with valid points for both negative and positive of both games. The overall end of the day comment is they shouldn’t be compared. Apples to oranges really. Single player experience is cool, but if you’re a social person and have friends, you’re going to go with a multiplayer PVP, PVE, or both. People that have complained and/or compared Avengers to Spider-man most likely favor the single player game experience. Both games are phenomenal with loads of potential to do better. Avengers has been out for 2wks with bugs and glitches. I haven’t played a game that had multiplayer aspect that didn’t have glitches and bugs. I played GTA online when you couldn’t barely play it. Stuck with it and it’s still going strong after 7yrs. So I’m sticking with Avengers.

Although I prefer games like Spider-Man PS4 over games like destiny, Avengers, division etc and I’m unbelievably disappointed with Marvel’s avengers, I’m hoping post launch really turns this game around

It’s hard to compare because one is a solo campaign based game but personally I like Spider-Man a lot more as a video game in general. Honestly I was hesitant on playing avengers again after a few hours into multiplayer after the campaign but I picked it back up after this update tonight and I was really enjoying myself playing the game. I think it has a lot of potential. But yes if I had to pick one to be able to play if I knew the gist and hadn’t played either it would be Spider-Man.

Bud Square created FF7 with many characters you can used at the same time and FF 7 remake still better than Avengers game🤷🏾🤔

I Love Spider-Man Ps4 than the Avengers Game. But it isn't Fair to compare them. Spider-Man Ps4 is a Standalone Game, while the Avengers Game were like a Team-Multiplayer game. Both also have different Game mechanics, diiferent Characters, different Villains, different stories, npcs, and different Micro Transactions. It also has different genres, so I'd say it isn't fair to compare....

Unlike Avengers Spider-Man PS4 is a complete and full experience worth the price tag.

I love playing as Thor and being able to throw his hammer and have it actually nail an enemy to the wall or pin them to the ground and deal lightning damage to them and then being able to summon them by frost and have it do different effects it's so much fun playing the avengers love it
