I saw Cream in 1967 at the Fillmore Ballroom in San Francisco. I was on acid and I was having a bummer of a trip. The room was melting and I couldnt get out of my funk. It was kind of scary and then Cream came on. The first song they played was Cats Squirrel. That brightened my mood. Then, they played NSU and my bad trip melted away and I had one of the best trips I ever had. I went back and saw them the next week when they came back. Then again the next spring. I was fortunate to hear them play most of the songs from Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears and some of the Wheels of Fire songs. Man, those guys were the best.

This was one of my favorite songs off of Fresh Cream. Saw them do live a few times.
Love Clapton's work here.

Jethro Tull " This Was" their first album with Mick Abrahams on guitar KILLED Clapton's version just a year after Creams release. Clapton was NOT god by a LONG SHOT !!! Compare This Was to Fresh Cream....no contest. Cream after this album was the beginning Cream's and Clapton's place in history of greatness live Jamming band of all time.

I was at that date as well but just potheaded. Clapton and Bruce were great but Baker was awful. The story goes that he was f/ued on heroin and he did puke on his way to the stage. Great performance. I had a pal who was a drummer in Toronto who I will not identify here but he did go up to GB and tell him that he was the stiffest most unmusical drummer he'd ever heard. He was right.

A bit over rated, yeah? The Cream. Maybe not. Maybe you should be there.
