They just don't taste as good as the freezed dried food. You also have to clean up your pot and utensils Everytime you cook, when your beat tired of so many miles and humping up steep uphill trail's it's just easier to boil water eat and pass out and clean up your utensils then scrubbing pots and utensils when you're dead tired
