Something really interesting is that the music industry supports both the movie and video game industries. A good film or game is rarely complete without the music.

Video games endorse creativity and an emotional connection with the characters making them feel as your own. With movies you're simply enjoying a predetermined video game that doesn't let you choose their path.

Music in totals 28.6 billion just last year, while the movie industry made around 3 times that much the year prior. BUT EVEN THAT’S SMALL compared to the game industry, where that same year (2022) the game industry has made 347 BILLION!

The fact that GTA5 made double of what Avengers EndGame made and that game released in 2013.

Don’t forget that with a lot of open source or free software its also SO MUCH EASIER for anyone with a half decent potato computer to make their own games, and sometimes that leads to blow ups like lethal company and undertale and other indie games! It’s a lot harder for any old nobody to publish a movie and have it gain any traction, even on youtube.

Actually, I kind of just realize something the music industry is bigger because what do videos video games and movies have in them music and their songs the people just listen to. It’s insane it’s bigger.

I mean you get more value for buying a game then a movie. So while a videogame may be 3x the cost of a movie, the videogame can also entertain you for 10-20x the run time of that same movie, making the cost difference negligible at best.

I can believe that. Video games can have hours of playtime while movies are usually a maximum of 2 hours. Plus a movie ticket costs like 10 bucks and a video game cost like 30-60
