Samsung QN85D Review: Great TV, But Too Expensive?

The Samsung QN85D/QN85DD QLED succeeds the Samsung QN85C QLED and is Samsung's lowest Neo QLED offering in 2024, sitting below the Samsung QN90D/QN90DD QLED and the Samsung QN95D QLED. It features a Mini LED backlight, allowing for high levels of brightness and fine control over the TV's local dimming zones.

Can you guys do a review for the Samsung q80d? I can only find reviews for the q80c on your website.

DTS isn't a problem for Blu-ray as long as you plug your Blu-ray player into your receiver ....

Those viewing angles as well as the weird bugs are completely unacceptable at that price point. You're basically paying oled money for one of these, yet you still get the viewing angles of a $300 tv

OMG, putting the TV in game mode really improves the input lag.

Thank you for the reminder!

What model do you recommend for it to be connected in the living room where there’s possible sunlight and no ghosting?! There are Q, S, and now QN. I’m looking to get one between 65” - 85” Samsung

Thank you for this review. When will your video of the Sony Bravia 9 be available?

In my region (EU) I see QN85D, QN86D and QN88D. 86 and 88 can be found in the local shops, but 85 is only available in e-commerce websites. Do anyone know the difference between these? 85D is 600+ euros cheaper than 86D and 88D for a 75 inch model.

MASSIVE zone count reduction from the version last year. Completely unacceptable.

champions are the best at this, I ask you between this model and last year's 65 INCH 85C, which in my country is sold with an IPS panel, which of the 2 models would you recommend, I await your response so I can purchase one of the 2, thank you very much

Hello Gentlemen, I recently found your channel and watched a few videos that are very knowledgeable. Thanks a lot to that, i have a quick question, I am looking to buy a 75-inch TV here in Calgary, 🇨🇦.. here at my local store, I am getting Sony X80K 75inch for 1170$ + tax, Sony Bravia 3 75inch for 1390$+tax, Samsung Q82C 75inch for 1565$ + tax. I am really confused. Please help out by suggesting which one is better value for money and best one at this price. Kind Regards..

Something not right about some of the graphics on this video. The section related to 24p Judder gave a score of 10/10 but the graphic at the bottom of the screen said that it was only better than 37% of 123 TVs tested. Another section gave a score of 9.9/10 but the graphic said it was only better than 47% of 123 TVs tested. The viewing angles looked awful when discussing them but the (several) occasions when the TV was turned from side on to face on later in the video made it look absolutely fine. Sorry guys but this is a poor video.

Ahh the classic "upsell" TV, given just the right amount of annoying compromises to manoeuvre people into a higher end model.
Even reduced the number of zones this year. Fancy that.
A difficult sell given what TCL and Hisense are offering in this price bracket these days.

It's the price that makes one look elsewhere

I bet that in 10 years time the Samsung will be still performing flawlessly & the TCL & Hisense will be piled up 10 high at the tip. Golden rule of thumb = You get what you pay for.
