I followed your recipe slavishly, down to the last detail (except that here in Marrickville, I can buy little containers of freshly made fried onions at our local Vietnamese shops, lucky me), and your recipe worked out ... how do I say this? ... better than PERFECTLY! Made this a few days ago and it turned out really nice. I soaked the basmati rice I cold water for 2hrs before starting to cook. Flavours and textures were great. Seasoning was spot on. Thanks for a great recipe. Raita was good as well.

Ok I’ll comment lol. I tried her butter chicken recipe the other day and it was amazing. Been to a few good Indian restaurants and I will say there is nothing at all lacking in her butter chicken. Nothing. It’s perfect. I’m now on the journey of trying all of her recipes since I’ve now gained a trust of her sense of taste.

For better flavour fry your spices before adding the water and rice, don't boil them with the rice
