This is the Original Ambur Star Briyani outlet in Ambur, Tamilnadu where Ambur Biryani was first originated. They claim this Biryani recipe invented first in year 1890.

Recent Dine-in Experience: The Chicken Biryani we tried was perfect with well cooked soft chicken pieces and flavourful seeraga samba rice well mixed with spices. The Brinjal gravy given along with Biryani was awesome. I felt the Biryani quantity was too less for the price though. The ambience was decent for family fine-dining. Car Parking not a problem in that area.

Recent Take-away Experience: We got a parcel of Bucket Biryani. The packing & quantity was very good, but the quality appears to be down for some reason. The parcel did not contain the eggs also. We did not find the biryani as tasty as dine-in.

We visited this outlet multiple times. We had excellent experience sometimes & below average experience other times both with dine-in & take-away. So looks like there is some inconsistency & our taste experience varies each time.

We recommend this restaurant to hardcore Ambur style Biryani lovers around Ambur & Vellore towns, or if you are passing through Ambur for any work. Please note that this Biryani is not done with Basmati rice, so typical Hyderabadi Dum Biryani lovers may not find this Biryani much appealing to their taste buds.
