I think the odds are zero of the ship reaching the surface in one piece. However, I'm sure they've got that thing instrumented all to hell, and I hope they have some sort of recoverable black box. As long as they get the telemetry they'll perfect the shield design quickly.

I believe, the state of the Heat-shield is more comparable to hoppers raptor or hopper itself. The first raptor that did actual work. This is the first heat shield intended to do actual work, being hopefully exposed to reentry 🤞
