This video gives an overview of the development of different models of the atom from Theme E of the IB Physics SL & HL course. Starting with the Thomson model, it explains the Geiger-Marsden-Rutherford experiment and how it led to the conclusion of the existence of the nucleus. From there, it goes on to discuss how the Bohr model refines that of Rutherford, as well as explaining emission and absorption spectra.
