"Nature made me a freak. Man made me a weapon. And God made it last too long" -Logan

This movie was the perfect way to end it for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. Two of them played their roles all these years and will forever be Wolverine and Professor X to us.

I cried when Charles finally was laid to rest by the water.
I cried when Logan made his stand.
I wept when X-23 called Logan daddy.
But it wasn't until she made the cross an X, that I truly understood that it was over.

The story of the Wolverine has ended.
His daughter's has yet to be told.

(Edit: GODDAMNIT DEADPOOL!)

You know, it's kinda funny, but I think I just now figured out something. That outfit of all black and white t-shirt Logan wears most of the movie is supposed resemble Johnny cash himself. He once was quoted as saying he was always dressed for a funeral, and seeing as this is the last wolverine movie, he was preparing to die.. And that's why they played Johnny cash at the end of the movie and in the trailers.

DC better stop worrying bout Marvel Studio and start taking notes from Fox when it comes to making adult themed comic movies

the feels at the end of this movie was really hard, especially knowing you watched the X-Men since the beginning of the 2000's.

I saw this movie by myself at 12am in a fairly empty theater. When the credits rolled... and this song came on (which i never heard before this movie) i just sat there.... as the few people got up and left, i stayed sitting silently until the end of this song... and then i got up an drove home. This is my most favorite personal memory i have experienced by myself, i will never forget the emotional weight this song held after those last few scenes of the movie. And i will never be able to experience that first time feeling ever again.... i am so happy that I was alone that night. It was like sitting next to the grand Canyon by yourself, basking in the beauty in front of you and not saying a single word and taking it all in...

As much as I love Hurt, I am glad that they chose this song. It feels like the song is talking about Logan ("Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust to" and "Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still"). This just felt like a perfect send-off song for one of the best and iconic superheroes. Plus, ending the movie with Hurt after the depressing (yet fulfilling) ending, would've been a bummer. This song acted like a pick-me-up, and allowed us to just remember the awesome fucking guy Logan was.

Not going to lie, me and my brother just sat through the credits silently crying, listening to this. Logan was an unreal film. Hugh Jackman was an unbelievable choice, he's played him like no one else could. GIVE HIM ALL OF THE AWARDS.

When I realized Cash was talking about judgement day I was struck! what a send off song to Logan. Absolutely incredible.

When this song came on after the movie, I smiled despite the tears streaming down my cheeks. It felt like a bittersweet send off to an old friend. Even though I didn't want to see Logan die, he got the ending and the peace he deserved.

SPOILERS!!!!

When I saw he wasn't going to recover from his wounds, I started to feel really sad... but I never thought I'd cry like a damn baby when he went limp. I didn't cry when she said "Daddy". I cried when she turned the cross into an X. In that moment, it tied everything together. I watched every X-Men movie again before seeing this to prepare in case anything was referenced. Logan was a hardened soul, but Charles gave him a family, a purpose. He fulfilled that purpose, and now it's Laura's time to become what he never could. "Don't be what they made you". That one line showed how he knew it was his time.
But damn this song makes me cry.

The way he and Charles got to sit around that dinner table and enjoy a ...I don't know...'normal' dinner and feel what it means to be a family...I was always sad for Wolverine for his inability to do that and always being alone.

I keep seeing some people saying that "hurt" should've been the end credits song. I wanted to offer my opinion because I think this song is perfect for the end. "Hurt" was a great choice for the trailer because the focus was on this movie alone and not everything before. When you see the end of the film and the credits roll it begins to sink in that the story is over. I began to think of everything that has led to this point. I think this song represents Logan's complete journey and finding his way. "Nature made me a freak. Man me a weapon. And God made it last too long." This was the story Logan carried and shared with those he met, the good, the bad, as the man who comes around.
