It is egregious that they told the potential recipient first. You tell the donor and let THEM make the decision.

The donor is ALWAYS supposed to be told first… to avoid this very thing. The donor is supposed to still have time to process. If they decide to bow out, the recipient would be told it isn’t a match. How sad this person didn’t have this opportunity
