It's so good to see you back in such familiar (to me at least), soul enhancing surroundings, the sound of running water, wind in the trees, and bird song. Recipe for peaceful nights' sleep😊
If you had continued a little way on to the confluence with the Derry Water, I knew some perfect camp spots there among the trees, but as it was, you chose well, as you always do!!

Perhaps more in winter, but sitting in the tent entry having a meal will instantly attract foraging chaffies, goldcrests, blue and great tit's. The herds of deer gathering around here for feed are nothing but spectacular.

The cottage in the distant woods is the late Bob Scott's cottage. Mar Lodge has had a chequered history - it was never a bothy. There are still plans to restore it commercially. Though the potential environmental impact in such an area as this is a major concern.
