I unironically found this video helpful--I'm an artist and one of my characters is an amputee, and this is literally the only resource I've found on how to put on and remove a prosthesis like this, so thanks

Been an amputee for upwards of 16 years. I am going to the Mayo Clinic next week for pre-op blood work and to finish the consult. Pretty nervous but excited but way overwhelmed with emotions on all of this. Do you truly appreciate having it done? I am at my END with traditional sockets, that’s all I know! They are definitely holding me back in life at this point. I have been interested in this surgery for quite a few years now and I am just finally making the steps to do so .

So I'm going in for osseointegration. Normally when I fall down my fake knee hits thr ground hard. And my socket don't hurt at all . My question is how bad does it hurt if you fall cause your knee gets caught on a bush or grass or something????

Doesn’t the skin eventually pull back, revealing the bone the prosthetic is attached too?
