As a seamstress, fiber content is SO important! Sewing polyester is a nightmare and it will never look as good as natural fibers. Unfortunately it's very hard to find natural fibers in many fabric stores now too!

I buy wool coats used. The styles and cuts basically haven’t changed in forever but they used to use real wool. Just got an old Perry Ellis car coat 100% wool for 30 bucks.

The pattern on the coat is houndstooth not herringbone

RW and Co is Reitmans. It's their luxury brand.

I used to work there...while the coats might not be the best material, they are made *very* well. I haven't worked there in over a decade and I have a coat that is in good condition and I definitely wasnt delicate with it.

Thank you for teaching me the importance of quality. I just turned 28 & I spent my entire early 20’s shopping fast fashion. I have an entire closet of fast fashion that I haven’t worn because of how impractical almost all of it is. I also just moved off island from Oahu to Virginia and none of that fast fashion will actually keep me warm. It’s all fake sweaters and jackets that look cute but have no real quality to them. The older I get the more I am able to spot something quality vs fast fashion. I am donating all of my clothes and slowly building my wardrobe by using Poshmark I now have 3 wool sweaters & a pair of quality jeans and why do I feel the best I’ve ever looked!!!

You definitely have me looking at fiber compositions now. Which is strange since my boyfriend of 5 years has always done it and I never blinked lol

I went into a Banana Republic today and HONEY. They were desperate to ask for my coin (as well as the other girlies in the store) or maybe they were just being helpful? Maybe I'm used to roaming through fast fashion stores even tho I don't buy so their approach is different. But I was like I'm here to see if the YouTube girlie was right about yall! Lol as for something fast fashion adjacent / contemporary I wanted to see for myself if they were still as good as several years ago or better. You were right! And it's better than what I recall. The materials were fire and their Cashmere was really cute. I didn't love the neckline on the Cashmere sweater I saw as it wasn't blended below the neckline (maybe that's a design technique to keep it lasting?) But I went back to it 3 times as it was the cutest muted powder blue shade. The styles weren't very me, they had a lot of concho esque/ Americana vibes together with a touch of euro vibes to it. A little much for me for simple pieces having details like that but I'm going to look there instead of the fast fashion stores when I go to the mall. Other than that it's vintage for me. Your channel is insane!! Keep being so damn smartttt lol <3

I love your content! I used to be super into sewing and tailoring but work in tech now so not a lot of time for it unfortunately. I always feel like I look crazy because I’m the only one I notice checking the fiber composition tags in the stores!!

It’s also important to consider where something was made with regards to price. Something made in developing countries is likely made off unethical labour so chances are the mark up is massive and the people (women usually) that made it weren’t fairly compensated.

I love your content, it's helping me choose my clothes wisely. Would you explain the difference between viscose and polyester? Most of my blazers are a combination of the two.

This store slashes their prices to a fraction of the original prices if you are willing you wait weeks/months after the style comes out.

Please review how NIKE completely rips people off! I know it's not designer, but I was just at the mall b/c the teens ask for it. $100 for sweatpants??

I wore the hevk out of my rw&co clothing in business school and after. I never had any damaged pieces or things losing shape so I’d recommend them

I haven't shopped there in several years because they moved out of the mall I shopped at but I have some pieces from them that are still in great condition that I bought over 10 years ago. Might depend on the pieces or maybe the quality changed.

If more people were aware of what good quality looked like and demanded it from these clothing stores they wouldn't be able to get away with selling garbage.

As a curvy petite woman, it’s one of the few places I’ve found that has affordable pants that actually fit me well but they are indeed not the best quality. The few times I’ve shopped there I’ve made sure to check the fibre content and they do have some stuff that’s mostly or only cotton or wool pants/skirts but even with the natural fibre pieces the quality is not amazing. I bought a pair of pants there the other month and they lasted about 2 months before ripping at a seam on my crotch. I was quite disappointed :/
