What It Feels Like To Be on High-Dose Prednisone

I know many of you have experienced the ups and downs of being on prednisone. What is the highest dose you have had to go on?

I did not know it makes you feel so high until I just realized why I couldn’t sleep the past couple days since I’ve been taking it

OMG This is literally me. I was just doing strength training, arm curls, push ups and crunches on the floor. Then, I went on the balcony and swept. Then I noticed that I had swept some of the foliage on top of the condenser unit. So, I went out there and cleared the foliage from the condenser unit. Now, I'm back in the house watching videos, about to slide out of my chair and onto the floor because I don't have the energy to sit up straight. Prednisone is a nasty drug.

The energy & mood swings in your video are so relatable. I’ve been on Prednisone on & off for 17 years. .. the pill that once felt like a blessing, has now turned out to be curse. I’m stuck with symptoms of withdrawal/side effects of long term use, high BP, pre-diabetic, cataracts, sleep apnea, osteoporosis, just to name a few :(

Tapered off of 80mg now at 20 then to 15 but now due to another autoimmune condition I have to take this long term 😢
Hate it but need it for now. Moon face, increased appetite, etc. This video is so relatable 😂

I hate predisone but it's one of the best drugs available medically and it's been used for awhile so I'm always happy knowing that

Yep! I was on it for 20 years I know the feeling. 2021 I tapper off. I take herbs now.

I just got diagnosed with an auto immune and have been on high dose prednisone for a few days and just experienced my first "roid rage" it is truly terrible

I was recently given 40mg for 5 days then 20 mg for 5 days due to allergic reaction. It's been horrible for me. Pounding heart and severe anxiety like constantly having a panic attack. Barely sleeping, couldn't sit still. Burning in my chest and feeling disoriented. I thought I was losing my mind until I googled does prednisone give you anxiety and was so relieved, I quit taking it with 2 pills left. Today is my second day without it but still dealing with the side effects. I've taken it before with no problems but it was a lower dose and less days. I never knew it could be so nasty. I feel for those who have to take it long term, I would probably have a stroke or be institutionalized!

I was like this. I had so much energy and I could get so much done. I was waling up naturally between 6:30am-7:30am. I was on 30mg, down to 20mg, then 10mg, now 5mg.

Now I'm just so fatigued, drained, I have no energy or motivation and I feel rubbish 😩

Haha so accurate. Sometimes I become hyper active. But I want to sleep so I just end just flipping around in bed.. 😅

Yes it does I have so much energy now but know after is all done Im going to crash!!! I want to feel energetic all the time!!!!
