This song is absolutely beautiful. During Summer, at 9:00pm or 10:00pm, I plug in my earbuds. Put this song on repeat and walk up to the street to the track and I just Run. I don't care how late it gets or how tired I get. I just keep running until I can't anymore. This song keeps me pushing forward, thxs for that.

I'm not sure whether you'll read this or not, but in case you do, I want to say your inclination towards strong melodies and towards having memorable elements in your music is frankly incredible, and you are one of my favorite artists in soooo friggin long. Specifically, this is why: (and please pardon the accidentally clickbait-y "Read more" placement)

I love "Heaven's Only Wishful" now, but it took time to really get to me: Eventually, I realized how well the song was written, because I just kept coming back to it. Something about it is gets better over time, and even though the melody didn't woo me to begin with, it deserved the time it took to finally click. After that, it became clear that the melodies were not meandering or undercooked at all. And by the time I'd heard "Whatever Comes to Mind" only twice, it was already getting stuck in my head, especially the chorus. The progressions and melodies in your songs are just so strong that it's almost a shame to call you just a _musician_ rather than a _melodist_ . And it's weird that I can trust an artist to the point that, if they release a song and I'm not bowled over instantly, then they deserve time to be appreciated, just because of this person's batting average. I know you haven't released the EP yet--and no pressure--but I'm already convinced the other two songs are just as strong.

There's so much music out there that's available for consumption. Some of it just falls flat because the artist doesn't have that keen sense for melody. Other times, it may be because of a desire to innovate that often leads musicians to make innovative but ultimately "unlasting" musical decisions, ones that are only impressive on a technical scale or by way of novelty, but do too little to truly deserve a place in memory. Like, Sufjan's _Illinois_ is stupidly complicated and experimental, arguably more so than a slew of metal albums, but the key difference is that _Illinois_ had melodies and moments that were worth remembering. So many metal artists can throw in a self-indulgent time-signature-brainturd just to throw one in there for complication's sake, but they'd have had better songs by sticking to 4/4 time than some unnatural mess.

At our core, humans are simple beings, whether we like it or not: As musical fads come and go, the one thing that remains true is that melody will never die. Those melodies may be simple or ridiculously convoluted, but if they work, then that's that. For hundreds of years across several nations and traditions, it's the thing that gets passed down from generation to generation, and no matter how experimental or high-minded musicians may aspire to be, the simple fact is that whatever melts in the sun won't stand the test of time.

That's why I friggin' love your music, dude. You just _get_ melody. You get what makes a song _work_, why it's worth remembering. And sure enough, your songs get stuck in my head where others--possibly more worthy of technical admiration--just don't.

Had to get that out after this while. Keep releasing whatever you release, man.

I don't go for a run, but seeing this video and hearing these new sounds and the song itself for some reason really gives me a push to just go for a night run as a way of dealing with stressful stuff happening in my life. Thank you 💚
