Wintertime winds blow cold to season
Fallin' in love, I'm hopin' to be
Wind is so cold, is that the reason?
Keeping you warm, your hands touching me
Come with me, dance, my dear
Winter's so cold this year
You are so warm
My wintertime love to be
Wintertime winds, blue and freezin'
Comin' from Northern storms in the sea
Love has been lost, is that the reason?
Trying desperately to be free
Come with me, dance, my dear
Winter's so cold this year
You are so warm
My wintertime love to be
Come with me, dance, my dear
Winter's so cold this year
You are so warm
My wintertime love to be

Though I wouldn't claim it's their best album, Waiting for the Sun has always appealed to me more than the others, and I don't know why. There's a seductive quality to it. It conveys the bittersweet nostalgia of a past summer. I think the photography certainly helps suggest those feelings. Whatever it is, I really dig it.

I love this video! The combination of the photos and the song is so poignant and evocative to me. The color photos of Jim and his girlfriend, Pamela Courson, were taken in Paris, France less than a month before Jim died there of a heroin overdose in the early morning hours of July 5, 1971. He was 27. Pamela followed his example. She died in Los Angeles on April 25, 1974. Like Jim, she died of a Heroin overdose. Like Jim, she was 27. Knowing this while listening to a song about love lost and new love found never fails to give me chills. It makes me so aware of how short and precious life really is. Yes, they are both dead now--gone and never to return. But they once lived and loved and were happy together. You can see it so clearly in the photos!

My dad was a DJ when I was a little kid during the late 60’s and early 70’s. My dad unwittingly turned me onto The Doors without ever realizing it. He would bring me home several albums every week or two. Well one happened to be their first album and a few months later he brought home Morrison Hotel . Thanks pops you were cool even if you hadn’t intended to be! We only agreed on a few bands and singers. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, Elvis, the Beatles, and The Guess Who! But he was the one who turned me onto my favorite band The Doors!!!

I have always thought that this was a good song but nothing special. Last week I listened to all 9 Doors Albums & for some reason when I heard this song again, I could not get enough of it. I have played it several times each day since last week. I now see it in a different light & appreciate it for the wonderful song that it is.

I like this song! It is like a Waltz! It has a European style and sound. Leave it to the Doors to do something so different. That’s why they were great!

I like the photos of Jim and Pam from Paris. It shows that they had some good times together over there. Good!Although she couldn’t have known what was going to happen with Jim. That must’ve been a terrible shock for her. Sad that it ended in tragedy for them. RIP JIM and PAM

One of my favorites. I see Morrison as a Knight at the Round Table with a gold or silver goblet in his hand.
