it can be useful if a medic pops up the uber and you make him heal you, the heavy is easier to kill

Uh, no. This can be useful if you run the medic into the death pit. Sure, you die, but so does the medic. It can also be useful for turning the Medic away from any other possible pockets and getting heals without losing your actual medic.
