Portland Quantum Computing Meetup, December 7, 2020
Presented by Amira Abbas

Classical neural networks have proven to be extremely powerful models that learn from data. Proposing a quantum variation of these already-so-successful models requires good reason. As such, researchers have been investigating whether quantum computation can, in any way, aid classical neural networks through higher expressivity or faster trainability. In this talk, we will discuss how to quantify these properties and demonstrate that quantum neural networks can show potential on these fronts, but many open questions remain.

Amira, you are a bright light of sunshine in that dark and heavily math-loaded QML landscape.

This is really great work that demonstrates the potential of QNNs. Very well presented.

@Amira Abbas
Thank you, with a very weak Electrical/electronic engineer background, with deep love in [organising the logic of new information] and with EXCITING interest in [Quantum physics..etc]. i'm at 16:00 and so far i can keep up with [your logic flow] and keep up with [the theoretical content flow] even though i know nothing of [quantum neural, quantum computation..etc]. Your perspective is very eye opening and helpful. Awesome Amira Abbas ^^.

Now i'm in the same boat as you were in your first job. But i actually quit that first job [2 months ago]. I abandoned that ship since i'm not married or have kids [very tough ship and growing experience but i needed to move on after i learned everything that this job can offer]. i'm in that stage compared to your life :P. I feel excited haha, for some reason i can't stop laughing and smiling, oh GOD XD.

Also thanks Mark.

Edit: [theoretical content flow and Practical!!] ''

Guys can anyone tell me where to start on machine learning. I want to work on Quantum machine learning, kindly let me know where should I start. I don't know anything about machine learning

Hi, Is there a "Supplementary Information" portion of this paper? Like links to data, Python code for running this expt/(expts) on the IBMQ platform?

I don't know much about Quantum mechanics but I think what your research is suggesting is that you might not be able to cheat the intelligence abilities of the universe you actually have to preen the quantum realm in order to truly get the intelligence benefits of the universe. I hope that's right because It might mean hopefully that nature has spotted this issue and has evolved it's own use of quantum mechanics. I really hope there is a more deeper quantum aspect human intelligence as the thought makes me happy.
