People have every right to be concerned about RAM usage and this video doesn't really do anything to alleviate that. You can't just say 75% of RAM usage is perfectly fine, but if in doubt basically "just add more". If you've got a PC using 75% of, say, 32Gb RAM at idle then something is very wrong. This mentality is why software is so bloated nowadays, because "just add more" hardware until it runs well, right?

Great Video! How do you know if your PC is using the most out of the upgrade ram. Is there a way to see if the pc is operating under the old ram settings?

I'm running a gaming rig with 64GB, it's always nice to have some in hand. Excellent video as well. Could you do a video on an explanation of Task Manager?

8gb is enough for non gamers and high graphics intensive users right? I mostly browse, and use some other applications while browsing.

Up to watching this video. I did think before, that say a 55% files stored. Would slow down your PC. So Thanks Again!

I'm a PC Gamer with mid range 2021 Gaming PC have a solid PC with 1440p high/ultra settings 100-144 FPS all Games, and I have minimum stuff in the background, even exist some programs when i'm gonnaa Game, and my system has 16gb ram 3600 speed, and my ram usage is always 14-15gb, feels like my ram is Sweaty all the time, and if I didn't tried to lower the ram usage before gaming it could have used near to 16gb. So I actually thinking of getting 32gb as soon as i think it's worth it money wise.

I noticed that when I upgraded from 16GB to 32GB my ram usage went from 4GB to about 6.5GB after a fresh boot, same startup apps. I think sometimes Windows likes more ram and the more you have, to a certain point the more it will use/allocate to programs. Thoughts?

With 16Gb my machine regularly runs at over 95% on a constant basis. Edge and Chrome use 90% of that memory.

If you need more ram, just download it!

Now seriously, thanks for the video!👍🏻 I know someone who needs to understand this kind of things.

I have always noticed that if Chrome hits about 1000 MB or so via Task Manager my computer not only slows down it also has some items missing such as in 10's Notifications etc. I have 8 GB of RAM and my total memory usage when this happens is Never more that 54% Used. My CPU is usually about 2-3% usage and my HD is perhaps at 2% or less used.
I am in YouTube a great deal so the vids take up a lot of RAM quickly. Try this if you would. like to see for yourself. I should mention that while in YouTube I do wander the Net at times and my computer slows down even faster than mentioned with the same usages of hardware. HOW can this happen? I urge you to test this out on 10 using Chrome. I should mention that when I clear my history etc within Chrome when things start slowing down etc - The memory shown there is at 320 MB or slightly higher. Many thanks for reading

This is NOT normal, I just installed 48gb of ddr4 ram on my other pc which runs a b550m plus 5700x, the ram does not exceed 3/4gb when I open two or three tabs on edge, it's like 6%, on the other side my newer pc which has i7 13th gen, z790 and 48gb of ddr5 memory keeps on maximizing at 30% when idle, now I need that much ram when working on after effects since I still get the error of "running low on memory" after effects is using 25gb, and I left 6gb for the rest of the apps, now I just don't get where the other 17gb went, don't tell me this is normal, I run my pc on safe mode and whops it's only 2.5/48gb being used, but as soon as I boot my pc on normal mode, it's back to point zero. 30-35% of ram being used when idle.

Wouldn’t have less than 16gb today. For my use that is enough overhead.

I agree: memory optimizers are useless. I tried a few, several years ago. Completely pointless software.
I game a lot. My new AMD Ryzen system features 32GB of memory and it is a blessing.
16 GB is limiting in a few huge, intense open world games. I encountered games that hogged all 16 GB of my memory after 2 hours of playing.
I then had to reboot the game to be able to play again for another 2 hours.
When using general applications I never had memory problems. Just with certain games.
Now, with 32GB I can finally stop worrying about my system's memory. It is quite a relief.

My Problem is i have 64GB and my PC uses like 40% without me doing anything. I just cant believe my PC needs 26GB RAM after just starting the PC

I have 8 GB of Ram and at the 63% percentage of ram being used.

The percentage of ram that is being used is not a concern to me however I am noticing every once in a while I get a notice that my computer is low in memory.

What is going on with my computer?

Unfortunately upgrading your ram is no longer an easy fix upgrade. Too many new computer/laptops sold today have the ram soldered to the motherboard. Before you buy a new PC makes sure your ram is upgradeable.
