We utilize an S.Howes sugar sifter to size the granulated maple sugar. This unit is WAY oversized for our application. Only 1/4 of the screen is being used with the manual feed method. This machine can handle a continuous auger full of maple sugar.

That’s a sweet piece of equipment! Beats hand sifting. Did you get a pistol filler for packing shakers and bags? We tried making a make shift filler with the cone from the lapierre cream machine bushed down with a ball valve but it would bound up. I imagine we needed some type of vibration to keep the sugar flowing.

Oh boy would love to see how this all works. We make Hundreds of pounds of maple sugar a year and it would be great to automate it to speed up the process.
