Erik is my hero, one of the coolest guys that ever lived. Played in cafes with a hammer in his pocket for protection, went back to study in his 40's, then wrote some of the most amazingly haunting and beautiful piano pieces ever created, influenced Ravel, Debussy and Stravinsky, and didn't even call himself a musician or composer. Gave birth to ambient music (furniture music), as well as influenced impressionism and dadaism, kept his compositions short to avoid boring the listeners (his words).
