A video explaining how to to use OSSC profiles are more than welcome, Bob.

For the 3DO: Return Fire is the best version for the console ports. Also Star Control 2 is an excellent title.
BITD, the 3DO was also one of the consoles that had a perfect 1:1 port of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo!

Gex on PS1 and Saturn got bumped to 60fps, the 3DO version is neat but it's a little hard to play at half the framerate. The system itself though is a really cool time capsule for those pre-mario 64 3D games.

There are clearly SD compatibility issues with GDEMU, or at least some of them.. hardware, firmware, or both. When you can use a handful of various (known good) SD cards in ANY other device perfectly fine, but only the GDEMU gives you issues.. that should be an indication. I suspect a lot of people have the same issues and haven't tested enough to realize they're having any problems. The SD issues can be very random, with completely different results. Everything from games working perfectly, but then gradually having problems until you refresh the card, or just random reboots, corrupted graphics and other strange anomalies. There are also known issues with some of the WinCE games, which has been discussed many times. It has been a very long time since any new firmware has been released. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to support a product like this, and I'm sure he has experienced plenty of anguish from customers. But seriously, there are many intelligent people in this niche community, that have spent countless hours troubleshooting GDEMU, only to be brushed off as some 'normie' insulting an unnecessary. I'm curious if there are severe hardware flaws, and this is just the typical case of plausible deniability, to avoid any costly product recalls. Having a discussion about potential issues, rather than blaming everything on 'user error' would go a long way.

With the gdemu 90% of legit devices are purchased from scalpers, since he actively encourages that, so how will they update? That guy needs to grow up. Piracy of that device is a service issue. I daresay 99% of those devices are clones at this point so clearly there is a market. And 90% of those people would pay full price.

Not sure why everyone has hate for Deunan at GDEmu as I feel the way he sells his products to be fine. If you follow his instructions then everything works fine. I've got 2 x Rhea and 2 x GDEmu from him and the ordering process is fine, the product is great and if you can follow instructions then everything works. I've updated my chip before and it went fine. I can see how he is hard to deal with if you don't follow his instructions but he isn't a service provider and we are paying him for his products to help with our retro devices.

I suspect the new GDEMU clones (5.15b) are upgradeable because they use the same FPGA chipset.

@RetroRGB hey resident smash bros player checking in, and I have an answer to you as to why smash players think the anything ever adds lag. All of them originate from melee scene where the gamecube ran composite mostly on CRTs. The reason this is important is melee, unlike street fighter and most fighting games, has NO input buffer whatsoever. So if you press A on a frame 1 jab, it happens on screen at least by the next frame due to the polling rate.

However since this tight input frame USED to be basically impossible to do on flatscreens for 10ish years basically people are basically TERRIFIED of flatscreens and will literally confirmation bias their arguments around their losses because "they can feel it".

Sometimes they'll feed some BS about reaction time in accordance with the way flatscreens render the frames, but with a modern monitor with a 1ms GTG pixel response time... they are still full of crap lol

TL;DR: ignore melee players they literally only believe what they want to.

Im getting ready to put together a video comparing 5 different types of crts. I was hoping to record all of them running at once however this creates problems. Is the refresh rate going to be the same for all crts? Does the refresh rate change with consol? With game? All the crts have a different white ballance. Help please. What should I do?

I have the OSSC going to a hdmi switch that’s connected to my dodo edge and it works great except for 240p content... maybe Marcell can add an update

I'm assuming those Smash players (or at least Melee players) were mistaking microseconds and milliseconds. They might remember seeing "ms" being used to measure lag, but not remember exactly what it stands for. We're also at a point where specific software mods for Melee are being suggested to make Melee through HDMI feel close to playing on a CRT instead of potentially better, so the community is definitely very picky about any sort of changes.

Not sure about RGB adding lag though. That could be from what @hh4hooch was mentioning about players wanting to stick to what they know works. Due to the rarity of the original cables and new cables only coming out after the HDMI adapters, it doesn't really come up in discussions.

Glad I bought a USB-GDROM, I guess...? For a while I felt like I’d made a mistake, but not after stunts like that.

I just want to point out, and I know this is really nitpicky, but LGR is just one guy.

@10:12 - it’s to be expected.... the smash community are mostly pre-pubescent kids who arent at that level of mathematics to know the difference of micro and milli

Imagine telling them to use a multimeter.

Gex on ps1 has a way better framerate than the 3do

I had to chime in with a comment to say that the OSSC DOES WORK with the mClassic. I use the OSSC as a component -> HDMI converter (for Xbox and PS2) with the HDMI output connected to the mClassic. I can't complain about the results. The $100 price tag is a bit much, though. But I got my 2 through the IGG campaign.
