Did a discovery flight for helicopters and it was a ton of fun. 30 minutes ground school and 30 minutes flight time but we extended it to 40 because the flight trainer actually felt comfortable enough to be completely hands off for even the approach and descent to the pad and then he taught me how to hover which he never gets to teach discovery flights. Turns out running heavy equipment is good practice for the hand eye coordination.

Did my discovery flight for fairly cheap due to being apart of Air Cadets (they wanted to get us all flying if possible). It's insane at how much of an opportunity you have when your cadets are based on an airport.

My discovery flight is next Friday! After that I plan to take 5 days of lessons in a row to see how I really like it and to make sure that I will be ready to earn my PPL, then attend ATP for everything else.

Young Eagles is a great way yo introduce kids to avaiation too. Many programs and scholarships.

My discovery flight taught me that im not cut out for it. The light aircrafts door opened when turning and i about threw up because i felt like i was about to fall out. The instructor just goes “ah it happens all the time, just slam it shut”. 😅

So, no degree? What about after you get your commercial license with 250+ hrs. How did you get your 1250 hrs to be considered a more applicable candidate?

Step 2 should be finding out the requirements for passing a Class I Medical. If you're not able to pass that test, it's silly to go through tens of thousands of dollars of training, only to find out that you can't pass the medical exam to become an airline pilot.

Pilot is maybe one of the best jobs in the world. It’s a bit of a struggle at first as you build up your hours/flight time. But you get to travel and make MAJOR bank!
