Raw - (Feb 17 1997) Bret had only won the title the night before at In Your House 13 'Final Four'. Sid winning the title would setup the main event at Wrestlemania 13 - Undertaker vs Sycho Sid.

People may forget that this was a really big moment in WWF history. I could be wrong but before this, I don't ever remember a world title changing hands on RAW; that only happened on PPVs. You can tell with WCW breathing down their necks, they had to step up their game and offer big moments like this on free tv.

Sid protected Bret on that PB, I just noticed how he quickly stuck his right arm under Bret when he was in the air, and hold him almost all the way down.

Bret made wrestling seem like a real fight. That’s why he will always be the goat to me. Even the promos, in a real fight you stumble your words. Bret gave a level of realism to wrestling that we haven’t seen in a long time.

We know Sid is a legend but he still is underrated when it comes to 90s wrestlers. He was over as a heel and face and didnt have to alter his gimmick much to make them both work
