How to Install and Secure Floating Shelves to the Wall | Installing Ikea Lack Floating Shelf
Показать описание
Hi you guys, it's Brittany from the blog the Beauty Revival. Today Jade and I wanted to share a tutorial on how we hang and secure our floating shelves to the wall.

The shelves we use in our living room are Ikea lack floating shelves and we highly recommend them!
We had one shelf that came down once so jade had to think of a better way to fasten it to the wall. We will leave links below for all the tools and fasteners that we suggest.
The first thing I do when I open a package of floating shelves is throw away their mounting hardware. It's never heavy duty enough and costs just a couple of dollars to replace.
Next figure out where you want your floating shelf to go. Find where the stud are located within where you want to hang your shelf. This is the most critical step to get your shelves secure. Now ideally we would want our shelf to sit where it touches two shelves, but that would look funny on on wall so we will only be able to have one stud where our shelf will set.
You may have to drill new holes on your mounting bracket, as I have shown you, if your brackets holes do not line up with where your stud is in the wall.
We use drywall anchors, and they are great for anywhere wether they hit a stud or not.
Once the shelf is in place you can then take wood screws and drive them into the studs.
And thats. Now mount your shelf, and screw the little screws in the bottom to hold your shelf to your mounting bracket!
