Two turbojet engines with afterburners from General Electric Mach 2 have a speed of 1600 miles per hour. 1,300-mile range The QF-4 supersonic aerial target is a reusable, remotely piloted F-4 Phantom-based target. The QF-4 is used to examine, develop, and test air-to-air combat systems. The remote-controlled target mimics enemy aircraft tactics. When missiles are fired at it, it flies unmanned over water in unmanned airspace. The QF-4 has electronics and infra-red countermeasures to analyze fighters and weapons flying against it. Full-scale aircraft can be computer-controlled "Wild Weasels". F-4s provide reconnaissance and anti-aircraft missile control. The F-4 was the premier fighter-bomber in the 1960s and 1970s.
