lived in blonde | effect multi tonal blonde super easy

Lived in blonde is my new favourite general term for all things blonde Balayage, Highlights all over tints base breakers dumping the base you name it. It covers the lot the only stipulation for me really to call it I lived in blonde is that it mimics what the Sun might do naturally. I think this gives a great overall general term for clients to use leaving the door open for you to guide them into what they can have with their specific care rather than specifically asking for a Balayage when that is not really what I need at all.

Oh my god I freaking LOVE YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! Thank you so much, seriously! I have been really beating my hair up lately, well for the past 5 years I’ve been going from dark to light to ombré to everything in between. My boyfriend died a very traumatic death 5 years ago and I had to witness it, and I don’t know why but I really just went nuts on my hair. Before everything happened, i had beautiful, very long and thick HEALTHY hair. I had to cut it off and it ruined my self esteem. My hair was so short, and I’ve never had short hair before that in my life, EVER! But my sister said I had to cut it off, there was no saving it. Now my hair is about 3 inches past my shoulders (thank God), but it is very frail, dry, and uneven in length (mostly around the crown area of my head) because it has broken off in so many spots due to me double processing my hair until it was like mashed potatoes. (Luckily my sister lets me use her CosmoProf card, so that way I always use professional salon quality products/tools, so I guess that’s a plus) But all in all, I have been trying to get my beautiful, long blonde hair back, slowly but surely — and trying not to rush it because I know that if I just did multiple either low volume developer processes, or bleach baths, that it wouldn’t cause my hair as much harm as I normally would. So that’s what I tried to do, and I’m doing that, I started off with a beautiful ombré (this was the first time I had put any bleach on my hair for about 1 year — my hair was a horribly ugly, faded and brassy brown copper color, a result of a Chocolate Mocha color I had tried to fill my hair in with and let my roots grow out with it) and the ombré I did was actually beautiful. So I thought I would just keep bleaching it farther up each time, little by little, and that eventually I would be completely blonde again. WRONG. Boy, I was dealing with level 10 ends that were so dry you could see them all fall off when I brushed my hair. And in the middle of my hair, it was a straight up god awful orangey golden tone… Then you had my dark roots which I blended in well, but I just couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to tone ALL THOSE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF BLONDE! And I really did not want to bleach my hair anymore, due to my hairs history — so bless your heart. Now I think I can finally fix my hair lol. I tried to tone it and ended up with silver ends, a weird grey/orange color on my mid length, and my root color that just looked ridiculous.
Thank god I could fade that toner out and just walk around with orange hair for awhile, which is what I have been doing.
I could never find anyone else on YouTube that had videos about toning different levels of blonde on the same head of hair, so for this sir — I commend you and thank you very much. You are wonderful.

Love this method too James! I worked in a salon once where the hairdresser sneered at me for this as she thought it was old fashioned and not a proper colour job. But I continue to do this and have done this on a lady this week who just wanted a gentle blend with her greys. Thank you for renewing my confidence in this kind of application! ♥️

Good morning James! What a great work! First I thought can that work without some foiles or plastic between the hair, but finally I saw the result. And it worked! To avoid some wast of Alu foiles is a good thing. I agree because when you see all the used foiles at the end of the day, you will start the next day with a technic like you showed! Great! Greetings from Austria

What is the tint you put in between the bleach paddles? Also I'm not sure I understood with you added level 6 with the 9 in toner? But the result is amazingly beautiful!!!

Perfect video like always 😍👏🏻 im so interested in testing this highlighting technic. Just to be sure, i Can use a claylightener with 30 vol to get a little more lift ? And i need to weav it all the way to the underneath of the section? Whats more important to think about ? ☺️🙏🏻

thanks again awsome content :)
i'd love to see some toning up and toning down video.

i see a lot of times people say you can't go from 9 blond to 1 black without
pre-toning with gold+red+natural before you paint the black over it.
because the hair will be missing those golds and reds that exist at level 1.

another example when going from tone 9 to 6 you have to put equal
6.43+6+6.16 to get back to natural 6.
6.43= orangey gold
6.16= ashy purple
they mix warm+natural+cool to get back from blond to natural color.

when going from 6 to 9
they mix 9.16+9 to cancel the yellow.
9.16= ashy purple

it's very confusing to me.
can you please make a video about it?
