In this video I will show you how to convert Drawing from inches to Centimeter & millimeters
TOPIC.
AutoCAD Tutorial : Convert Drawing from Inches to Centimeters or Millimeters
I will check - drawing unit once. I want to convert this drawing to Centimeters
This can be done in 2 method.
1. By scaling the drawing from Inch to centimeter
2. By changing the linear scale of dimensions.
1. By scaling the drawing from inch to centimeter
Select the drawing,
Take scale command
Specify the base point
Specify the scale factor – 2.54
Why I am giving 2.54 – because we know that 1 inch = 2.54 Centimeter
Increase the size of dimension text.
If want to bring back this drawing to inch.
Scale this drawing to 0.3937 (it is inverse of 2.54 centimeters per inch)
In case if want to convert drawing from inches to millimeters
You can use scale factor – 25.4
Because 1 inch = 25.4 mm.
If want to bring back this drawing to inch.
Scale this drawing to 0.03937 (it is inverse of 25.4 millimeters per inch)
2. By changing the linear scale of dimensions
Select all dimension,
From Properties panel.
Change dim scale linear from 1 to 2.54
All selected dimensions are in centimeter now.
If change this to 25.4.
Now all dimensions are in MM.
This I how we can change drawing units from Inches to Centimeters / Millimeter
Or from Centimeters / Millimeter To Inch.
Inches To Centimeter.
1 Inches = 2.54 Centimeter = 2.54
Inches To Millimeter.
1 Inches = 25.4 Millimeters = 25.4
Centimeter To Inches.
1 Inches /2.54 Centimeter = 0.3937
Millimeter To Inches.
1 Inches /25.4 Millimeters = 0.03937
