FINALLY! 2020 AUDI S7 SPORTBACK! Are AUDI totally crazy or genius? The V6T TDI with mild hybrid!

And so, here it finally is! The 2020 Audi S7 Sportback. Audi created lots of controversy when they announced that Europe will only get the TDI version. So we went to Germany for the launch of the car, and spent a very gloomy day with it. Was the move for the TDI in Europe, genius, or pure insanity by Audi? Audi themselves say the reason is because their European customers demanded a powerful car that can travel long distances and yet have a low fuel economy. Will this scare away the true petrolheads, or is it a genius move that will attract more buyers? It remains to be seen.

I think what Audi has done here is actually very clever, this is the perfect car for someone who likes the A7, but wants something that looks that much better, is faster, sounds better and is overall more sporty, but doesn't want to sacrifice economy, running costs and comfort by owning a sportier model. For everyone complaining about the Diesel and the sound and the speed, wait for the RS7 - that will still be an absolute machine like it always was.

For us, petrolheads, it is really hard to understand other 95% of people. People who don't care about sound, badge on the back of car, manual transmission, fake exhausts, fake sound, hybrid systems, downsizing etc. They just want to have a nice car (this car is beautiful), that is powerful enough(this car has more than enough power). My brother recently bought fully loaded Golf 7.5 2.0 TDI R-Line for the price of GTI or even used Golf R, and i was like WTF, but his car is beautiful and has enough power, that is all he wanted. This Audi will have good sales, like SQ7 and SQ5, and that is what matters.

Great vid as always but the S7 being a diesel makes me feel sick 😭.. sure it's 700nm and sound good for a derv but the S and RS should be petrol or if it has to be a hybrid.

This car is goodlooking, fast and quiet and low mpg say whatever you want but this is a perfect cruiser.

Once, I met a guy that worked in Audi in Germany. He told me that one of their bestsellers was Audi SQ5 3.0 V6 BiTDI (last generation). They were selling them like hot cakes. Europeans were crazy about it. So yes, diesels in S models are logical decision for Europe.

Audi lately failed to put the right power to it's performance cars, the RS5 sportback has only 450 but its rival the c63s has 510hp, and the big disappointment is the new S6/7 with only 350 HP, hope high torque will make it as fast.
