I had a classmate who survived his parents' attempts to abort him. He told me how his parent did not want him from the beginning and tried to abort him. But then something happened in the procedure where they thought it was a success and then when they realized they just relented and decided to keep him. I just began mumbling random stuff to him after he told me because I did not know how to properly respond then (I was a dumb teenager then). I could only imagine living your life knowing you were not wanted. He could see himself as a fighter and survivor or see himself as unwanted.

I still remember when I found out Roe was officially overturned. It was a little after 5 when I was leaving work, and I was at the ice cream place right outside my work. I was waiting for my ride and having some ice cream. I was on my phone when something caught my eye that reminded me that the court would be releasing more rulings that day, so I started searching to see if the Dobbs decision was handed down yet. Even before I got to the official opinion, article titles said it. When I finally saw the official ruling, that was when it finally hit me. Roe v Wade was finally dead. I was very happy and texted my stepmom the news.
