Will the electrode tip last longer if it's not used as much? I'm about buying one, but I will only use it about 10 times in one year. Seems a bit expensive if it doesn't last long, especially since I don't really need it.

I put my meter in 4 buffer solution .i got two meters and they was about 10 sigits off and i figured i need to put it in ph buffer 4 .i soaked the sponge and had it just above the sponge and now it dont read ph it says over range
