Psycho III (1986) - Official Trailer

The Bates Motel is once again the site of something evil as the rehabilitated Norman attempts to help a disturbed young woman, Maureen Coyle (Diana Scarwid -- Mommie Dearest), who has left the convent because she can't find any proof that God exists. Maureen bears a striking resemblance to one-time Bates Motel guest Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) which puts Norman on edge. At the same time, a nosy reporter is snooping around town looking into Norman's past. Suspense, terror and black comedy worthy of the master himself are in hearty supply in the most shocking Psycho of them all!

Underrated and underappreciated during it's initial release, I actually think Psycho 3 is the sequel which has improved the most with time. Perkins is often spot-on with his direction, particularly the use of lighting in different scenes and he cast the picture well- Diana Scarwid is a nice partner for Norman Bates whilst Roberta Maxwell and Jeff Fahey are good counterfoils for Bates. Whilst it may lack the suspense of part 2 and clearly is not in the same league as Hitchcock's original, I think this is one overlooked gem that needs a new and fresh reevaluation.

Somehow the voice of his mother kinda sounds like Linda Blair from the exorcist almost similar to each other I think she should have played the part compared to the one they hired for the film

Got Psycho in my historic horror bloodstream, since i saw the first original movie, by Hitchcock, and im one of the many that liked the sequel, of Anthony Perkins as a more sympathetic character, and the third sequel, ended thegood sequels from those who tried their first sequels, cause their fourth about a young Psychoboy and his problems with his mother, was simply a bore.Nuff said.
