Across The Mudflats - Watercolour Painting Workshop Preview

Mudflats, Marshes & Coastal Estuaries provide the artist with innumerable opportunities to paint.

Not only are these areas packed full of life and vibrancy but they also provide those who like to indulge in a little plein-air painting with a quiet spot to hone their craft without the usual interruptions that painting by the sea can present.

You know the sort of thing... being blown of the cliffs, having some kid dribble their ice cream all over your brushes, having seagull’s poop on your head and in your painting water (yep that has happened to me before!), having countless people telling you that they have an auntie that paints and so on.

Nope here (usually) it's just you and nature and contrary to what some might believe these are fantastic areas to paint - here are a few little watercolour techniques that WILL help you with your portrayal of these hidden oases of calm.
