I don't see how anyone could side with Zoe here. You don't get to tell someone how they need to handle their own grief. It isn't okay to push your own thoughts on how something should be done when it isn't your burden. You should instead but a supportive human being who works with said person to help them through their process.

I didn't really like the scene with Zoe at the end. Who is she to tell him how to grieve his father? People grieve and deal with death in different ways. There isn't a right way to handle it.
