Divine Protection!? All Changes in Wii Rainbow Road! | Classics VS Mario Kart 8 ANALYSIS

The Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was quite the success, and once again, we’re looking at All Changes and differences made for the returning courses in Wave 6 of the DLC. The final race of the Spiny Cup is Wii Rainbow Road. It’s the grand finale, taking place on an iconic prismatic raceway high above the earth, with several elements taken straight from Super Mario Galaxy, many Boost Panels and half-pipe ramps, a steep plunge towards the planet, a wavy road leading to giant holes and a Launch Star cannon, intertwining split paths—all in antigravity. So how does the most recent update differ from past instalments? Let’s find out!

This track was a great way to end off the Booster Course Pass, and this Rainbow Road is the best Rainbow Road ever!

That was an amazing analyzation of the Rainbow Road I grew up with! I was so happy this track made it in Wave 6 at the time and man, that soundtrack always gives me the chills! 🥲
It’s just such a beautiful composition, from the opening section, to the Galaxy references made, to then the ultimate percussion drop leading up to the final section! I feel like the percussion drop in the 8 Deluxe version of the song feels more dramatic and truly fits the theme of the track more. The live band didn’t disappoint! Brilliant stuff!! 😆😆😆

Two important things I'd say you missed:
- The 8 Deluxe version's minimap is mistakenly missing the drop shadow all other course minimaps in that game have, which makes it practically unreadable at times.
- The track appears to have been built for 8 Deluxe first and foremost. Unlike essentially every other Booster Course Pass track, the scaling of the course model is in line with base 8 and past Mario Kart games. Meanwhile, the Tour version is the only retro course in that game to be larger in scale than the original track.

As an aside, Wii Rainbow Road's addition to Tour appears to have been rushed. Essential objects were added only a few months in advance, while no banner was added to denote the start of section 2 unlike in GBA Bowser's Castle 4. In fact, one of the Bonus Challenges set on the track is set to 1 lap without a section break, which I would think implies that they hadn't decided on how to shorten the track for Tour until very late and forgot to make the section break consistent across the board.

I absolutely love how Wii Rainbow Road is the final track of the Booster Course Pass and the final Booster Course Pass track to be analyzed by GameXplain. Wii Rainbow Road is so amazing and nostalgic.

There's bit more to the 5 stars above the redesigned starting line banner alongside those 3 at the 2 jumps going towards the rainbow tunnel. I believe it was already said, but those stars occasionally flash brighter in the switch version of this course. It's a bit hard to see, but this is most noticeable after the course intro.

Wii Rainbow Road has been my all time favourite Mario Kart Road after Mario Kart DS Mario Kart Wii was my second played Mario Kart game in my childhood with brothers and a whole family encluding our mom and dad played Mario Kart Wii! I remember Yoshi, Diddy Kong and Bowser Jr was my the most played characters so it's AWESOME Diddy Kong is now in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe too and I really like that Wii Rainbow Road looks a little diffrent, but the music is the same that I will always remember Wii Rainbow Road was a perfect Final Road in M8KD now we all waiting for Mario Kart 9/X whatever it is for the Switch 2! Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Nintendo Switch's one of the most solded and played games it's so fun defienitily on online and even after the next Mario Kart what's coming in 2025 I believe people still buy and play MK8D we really live INTERESTING times in Mario Kart's history: Here we GOO WAHOO! 🌠🌈

Nice video but one suggestion for future which I think would make it even better - please include an overlay title when showing footage from the different games to make it clear which version is which - especially when showing side by side shots it was hard to tell which one you’re talking about when Wii, tour and switch are all in the mix and the side on which each version was shown and visible UI elements kept changing
