Long March-2D launches Gaofen-5 01A

A Long March-2D launch vehicle launched the Gaofen-5 01A satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi Province, China, on 8 December 2022, at 18:31 UTC (9 December, at 02:31 local time). According to official sources, Gaofen-5 01A entered its planned orbit successfully and is a “hyperspectral satellite that will be used for remote sensing and applications in diverse fields, such as pollution reduction, environmental monitoring, natural resource surveys, and climate change studies”.
