The W in Keswick is silent. It's pronounced Kezzick. A lot of tourists get the name wrong.... As someone who lives in the Lake District, yours is one of the better tourist videos I have watched.. I've lived in the Lakes for 66 years, and I haven't seen it

The valley of Buttermere, south of Keswick is amazingly beautiful. It is often called the most beautiful valley in England. At the bottom of Borrowdale you go over Honister Pass (steep) and go down to Buttermere which is a perfect Lake, but the village can get very busy at Bank Holidays and Weekends.

Hi Brittany, thanks so much for your clip about Lake District. I heard about this place from my UK friend. I have never heard of this place before. Your clip really gave me a better understanding of what it looks like. Thank you.

Great Travelvlog, thank you. I'm a Brit and although I've travelled a lot, I still haven't made it to the Lake District...maybe I will this summer.

A beautiful area. In summer it can get very busy for obvious reasons. If you love nature then the Lake district is a must. I would suggest that you try Snowdonia in Wales, another National park. Keep up the great work

Always great to see the Lake District recommend. You probably saw how green and watery it was. That’s because it does get a lot of rain. The best time to visit, weather wise, is from April to June. Spring to early summer tend to be the dryer times. This is never guaranteed. Spring can come quite late some years, and 2024 was wet until September.
Always check the weather before a walk so you know what is going to happen. The walks can be long and they are tracks not footpaths. It’s an amazing place but not somewhere to go unprepared.
Phone signal in the hills is poor or nonexistent.

Return train fares are not double the single fare. If you book a return ticket, the return portion is considerably less than the outward journey, sometimes just a few pounds.

Its my favourite place in the world.
If it didn't rain, there would be no lakes!🤣🤣
Good advise to rent a car outside of London.
There are mountain Goat Tours, where they take you to the harder to get to places in a Mini-Bus.
It gets busy in the summer, but the first two weeks of July are OK.

its Wastewater and we say it like this wast-watter
its Keswick and we say it like this Kes-ick
Windermere has a 10mph speed limit on the lake
Kendal My home town also has cheap places to stay and it only 10 miles from Windermere.

If you're going crag ratting (hiking) make sure you have the correct foot ware and have correct clothing the weather can turn in minutes.

Wow..how many people does it need to mention you pronounced Keswick wrong😂…as someone who lives in “Kezzick” I’m pleased you liked the area.

I'm from the Cotswolds and have been walking and climbing in the Lakes for the last 30 years. If there's one thing I've learnt, that is stay away from the Lakes in summer time. It's just too crowded with hundreds of coaches, not to mention cars also. Now do all my waking there on the winter months, so much quieter. Still busy at times though. Stay away from the honey pots of Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere, because they're just rigged up for the Americans and Chinese. You won't get much change out of £25-00 for a round of 4 drinks in a pub. By pass these places for more remote areas. Helvellyn HAS to be tackled from Glenridding or Patterdale for the best route to the top. The route from Thirlmere is a boring tedious slog. Good job the mist was down because the views from that side are not the best.

How do you get to the Lake District from other parts of the UK? We don't all live in London.

Do u think we can go Lake district during year end like late November? And still have a good time

It's pronounced "Kezzick".
And it's Wastwater, not Westwater, and the 'wast' part sounds exactly like 'was' with a 't' after it. And it's in Wasdale, also sounds like 'was'.

Hi Brittany. Not sure what Country you come from but you sound American or Canada? Haven't you looked into flights to Manchester from America or Canada? Manchester is much closer to the Lake district than London.
